JSON editor/validator

The code editor was added to the table options advanced column in Data Tables. The content of this column must be valid JSON. By default the code editor helps to check if the content is valid JSON while being entered.

Disable JSON editor/validator

The JSON entered in the table options advanced column may contain javascript functions. For this reason the plugin allows to add new lines for readability. These new line charaters however are not allowed in a JSON string and are removed from the string before it is being applied to a data table. If you prefer to be able to add new lines in your JSON, you can disable the JSON editor/validator as follows:

  1. Go to Plugin Settings
  2. Click on the Data Tables tab
  3. In JSON editing click: “Use textarea without JSON validation”
  4. Save settings
