Heterogeneous database connections

WP Data Acces version 4.2.26 is prepared for heterogeneous database connections. Connections with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB have been succesfully established. This feature is not (yet) available from the user interface. It has to be configured manually.

MariaDB with full privileges is required for heterogeneous database connections. MySQL does not support this feature. WordPress servers running MySQL can use a MariaDB gateway to establish a connection to a foreign DBMS. The foreign DBMS must be reachable from the WordPress server running MariaDB or the gateway.
